The below courses are effective for those students who join the Charleston Law Review in August 2021 and thereafter.

Charleston Law Review (Note) 840-1 (1 credit hour) graded Pass/Fail

Satisfies the Upper-Level Writing Requirement

Student members of the Charleston Law Review may earn academic credit in the semester they write their article, comment, or note of publishable quality.  These students may satisfy their upper-level writing requirement through this course provided their faculty advisor certifies that they have met the requirements of the upper-level writing requirement. To assure appropriate academic rigor, the Law Review article, comment, or note must be supervised by a faculty member, with prior approval of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.  A student wishing to do so must follow the Guidelines for Independent Study, including submitting a request form and outline by the appropriate deadline for the semester.  The student must not have previously received credit for the article, comment, or note.  The Journal’s Faculty Advisor must also certify that the student has written an article, comment, or note of publishable quality.
